Media Training for Authors

Beyond my life as a novelist, I’ve spent the past two decades helping leading consumer brands communicate with clarity, confidence, and heart. In both agency and in-house roles, I’ve prepared countless CEOs, founders, and spokespeople for high-stakes interviews and public appearances. I’ve also developed messaging for major product launches, crafting narratives that are compelling, emotionally resonant, and designed to drive action.

This background became especially valuable when interview requests started rolling in for my debut novel, We Don’t Talk About Carol. As many debut authors quickly discover, publicists at publishing houses are often juggling numerous titles at once—which means there’s rarely time for dedicated media training.

Thanks to my experience, I was able to:

  • Develop strong, soundbite-ready talking points

  • Prepare for sensitive or off-topic questions

  • Practice delivery for video interviews, which are often recorded and shared on social media

Now, I offer the same support to fellow authors who want to feel more confident and prepared when speaking to the press or public.
